E-Waste Recycling Guide & Business Services

E-Waste Recycling & Disposal Resources

For residents with small quantities (1–5 items), we recommend using local community drop-off points. These services are often free and conveniently located.

Some Council also runs free community e-waste recycling drop-off events (usually twice a year) for residents to recycle TVs, computers, phones, small appliances and more. Inquire with your local council for event dates.

Yes. For businesses, schools, or large residential clear-outs, we provide professional collection services that local council bins cannot accommodate:

  • Bulk Collections: Scheduled pickups for office IT upgrades, server rooms, and warehouse clean-outs.

  • Certified Data Destruction: We ensure all sensitive data is physically destroyed or digitally wiped before the recycling process begins.

  • Compliance Reporting: We provide certificates of destruction for your company’s audit and ESG records.

  • Sustainability: We guarantee that 95-98% of your equipment's raw materials are recovered.

To ensure safety and security, please follow these steps before your electronics are collected or dropped off:

  • Backup Your Data: Ensure you have saved any important files or photos.

  • Factory Reset: If the device still powers on, perform a factory reset and sign out of accounts (like Microsoft, iCloud or Google)

  • Battery Safety: Place a small piece of clear tape over the terminals (ends) of loose lithium batteries to prevent short-circuits.

  • Remove Consumables: Remove ink cartridges from printers and batteries from remote controls.

Electronics contain both hazardous materials and valuable resources. Recycling correctly ensures:

  • Toxic Prevention: Keeps lead, mercury, and cadmium out of our soil and groundwater.

  • Fire Safety: Reduces the risk of "zombie fires" in garbage trucks caused by lithium batteries.

  • Resource Recovery: Allows precious metals like gold, copper, and cobalt to be reused, reducing the need for new mining.
